My name is Rogier ter Veer. I am 29 years old. About five years ago, a good friend of mine called me out of the blue. He said, “Rogier, I was praying for you and felt strongly in my heart that you should do something in marketing. You are going to have a meaningful impact in that field.”
I was somewhat surprised by that phone call. At the time, I was still working full-time as a physiotherapist and pursuing a Master of Science in Manual Therapy. At the same time, the word did resonate with me. A year earlier, my wife and I had started our own business, for which I was mainly handling the marketing. I noticed how much I enjoyed it and started wondering if I should do more with it. After that phone call, I decided to explore the idea. A year later, I quit my job as a physiotherapist and began working full-time in marketing.
After gaining experience at a marketing agency, I felt it was time to start my own business. I wanted to make more impact for the Kingdom of God. That’s how Kingdom Marketing was founded. Our vision is to work primarily with Christian entrepreneurs and Christian initiatives. This creates a lot of room for prayer, even in the workplace. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God.” This applies to your personal life, but certainly also in business. I’ve experienced this many times already.
Recently, we invited someone to our office who has received the gift of prophecy. We spent an hour praying for the company. Beautiful insights came from that time, and it gave us fresh vision for the future. We want to focus more on marketing for churches, to further increase our impact for the Kingdom of God.
I see entrepreneurship as a partnership with God. Together with Him, you set goals and determine the right strategy. That way, you can be sure you're on the right path, and Psalm 1:3 comes to life: “Whatever he does prospers.”
