In the early morning hours, while most of the inhabitants of the Kurdish city are still asleep, Faraidoun wakes up with a clear assignment in his heart. As a Dutch-Iraqi Kurd who has dedicated his life to reaching Kurdish Muslims with the Gospel, he is used to God’s guidance. But this morning is different.
“I was praying: Father, what do You want me to do today?” Faraidoun recalls. “God said: ‘Go, walk.’ It wasn’t an audible voice, but a voice in my heart.” Without knowing where he is going, Faraidoun begins to walk. For two hours he wanders through the streets of the large city, continuing to pray and ask: “What do You want from me? Why am I here? What do You want, Lord?”
